THERAPIST SPECIALIZING IN MEN'S ISSUES

CONNECT TO CORE ISSUES

The journey of self-discovery can be difficult. Ben brings clarity and insight to support clients going through this process.

Ben Taratuta specializes in working with individuals and families struggling with mental health issues, substance use, and trauma. He helps his patients build their sense of self-worth and develop an understanding of who they are, guiding them to create healthy lives as they move forward in recovery.

Helping patients develop a strong sense of self-awareness is at the core of his therapeutic process. He meets individuals where they are and allows them to experience their full range of emotions in an honest way. By offering new perspectives and open communication, he provides the tools and support necessary for lasting change and sustainable health.

“My main goal is for people to feel heard. Feeling heard is paramount to finding resilience through trauma.”
–BEN TARTUTA

OPERATING FROM EMPATHY

Ben specializes in the struggles that young adult men face. Meeting men where they actually are is much easier said than done. But this is Ben’s strong suit, and it inspires his work on a daily basis. His ability to operate from a place of non-judgment and with empathy comes from professional and personal experience.

Ben’s therapeutic approach includes evidence-based modalities, such as:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

  • Motivational Interviewing (MI)

“When we grow up in an environment that struggles with tolerating uncomfortable emotions, we find ourselves as adults never having developed appropriate coping skills for that discomfort. This often leads us to ask ourselves, 'Why am I like this?'”

–BEN TARATUTA

A MOTIVATIONAL APPROACH

Ben’s style of motivational interviewing is natural and seeks to understand the core issues beneath even the most extreme emotions. His talent lies in getting those who are resistant or stuck in pre-contemplation to pause and look at their behavior, thoughts, and feelings through a different lens.

Ben connects well with patients of all experiences, diagnoses, and backgrounds. He establishes a strong rapport to effectively address difficulties with self-worth, maladaptive thinking, negative core beliefs, and difficulty with dependency. His ability to operate from a place of non-judgment and with empathy comes from professional and personal experience.

– ERIC BRICKER, LMHC CAP EMDR
EMDRIA Certified EMDR Therapist
Certified Grief Recovery Specialist
Certified Anger Management Specialist
Qualified MH Intern Supervisor

I had the pleasure of meeting Ben and working with him while he was the counselor for one of my clients in treatment. After treatment, my client reached out to me to say how supportive Ben had been in helping him navigate treatment and early recovery and the reason he stayed in treatment. Moving into private practice will allow Ben to transfer his many talents as a therapist and a caring individual to those needing expert help outside of a residential treatment setting.

– WILLIAM LUKE, MS, LPCMH

Ben’s ability to deeply understand and conceptualize the root of one’s struggles is outstanding. He can truly meet the client where they are at in order for the change process to occur.
